| Patagonian Cavies are related to guinea pigs and chinchillas.They are in the rodent family. Cavies eat rabbit feed,fresh greens,vetetables and a few fresh fruits. Their young are born in a borrow. When cavies are bottle fed they are very good pets and love to be cuddled. They make squeaking sounds like the guinea pigs.Cavies can run up to 30 miles an hour, jump over 6 foot into the air.They are the second largest rodent in the world. When full grown, they stand up to 2 feet tall at the shoulders, can be as much as 2 1/2 feet from the nose to tail.Weighing nearly 35 pounds. |
